Education Background:
He was graduated from Buddhist College of Minnan (Southern Fujian, China) while he was a research scholar at Buddhist College of Wuchang. 

1922 – He enrolled in a private learning institute of Leqing District.

1924 – He was tonsured by Venerable Bai Yun of Shouchang Temple in Huangtang town while he was blessed with Dharma name Mo Cheng, and given the extended name Shou Zhi.

1925 – He served as the attendant to Elder Zhi Feng at Yongjia Pujing Temple in Wenzhou. Elder Zhi Feng taught him classical Chinese and poems, as well as the ultimate principles and the enlightened songs of Yongjia.

1926 – He followed the Elder Bai Yun to stay at Jing Zong Temple in Siming Meixu to learn sutras and chanting for a year.

1928 – He received the full ordination from the renowned Venerable Elder Di Xian of Tiantai school, and began studying various Buddhist doctrines.

1933 – He was appointed to serve Venerable Elder Tai Xu. Later, he followed the Elder Tai Xu to Hong Kong, Macau and other places where he lectured. Venerable Zhu Mo was one of the Elder Tai Xu’s outstanding students.

1939 – He was the Chief Editor of the magazine Jue Yin in Hong Kong (Macau)

1951 – He founded the Buddhist magazine ‘Endless Lights’.

1953 – He served as the Director of Academic Affairs at Qixia Buddhist College.

1954 – In Siam (Thailand), he officiated the consecration ceremony of the relic’s stupa of Elder Master Tai Xu and enshrined the relics into stupa. During this period, he held a solo exhibition of paintings and calligraphy.

May 4th, 1954 – He was appointed as a teacher at Phor Tay College and he also conducted Buddhist studies. The three volumes of self-compiled ‘Buddhist Textbook for Junior High School’ were referred as a teaching material. 

February 1955 – In order to raise funds for the Buddhist Higher Scholarship, he travelled with Mr. Wang to Singapore to hold a paintings and calligraphy exhibition, as well as published ‘the 2nd Volume of the Paintings and Calligraphy’s of The Venerable Zhu Mo’. As a result, a total of approximately RM13,000 was raised. Apart from paying for the expenditure for framing and other stuff, the first half from the surplus was reserved for the Buddhist Higher Scholarship whereas another half was used for the printing of “Deng She Cong Shu” for free distribution.

The scholarship commission was set up in Penang and he was elected as its director.

April 19th, 1959 – He was unanimously elected as the first President of Malaysian Buddhist Association.

July 1962 – The Elder Zhu Mo and his disciples initiated the establishment of Triple Wisdom Hall.

1965 – Established Triple Wisdom Hall.

1963 – The Elder Zhu Mo, Elder Ben Dao, Elder Zhen Guo, Elder Jin Xing, Elder Jin Ming and thirteen others initiated the purchase of land at Burmah Road for the construction of Buddhist association.

1969 – He launched Malaysian Buddhist Institute.

1970 – He served as the first principal of Malaysian Buddhist Institute.

March 23rd, 1990 – He observed a three-year retreat.

1996 – The Venerable Master's handwritten copy of the "Prajnaparamita Heart Sutra" is treasured in the National Palace Museum in Taipei.

1997 – He stepped down as the abbot of Triple Wisdom Hall.

1998 – He was conferred on the title of DMPN datukship by the head of State of Penang, Yang di-Pertua Negeri Pulau Pinang.

February 4th, 2002 – He passed away peacefully at the age of 90.

Publications: 24 volumes of ‘Gallery Collections of Zhuan Xiang’ and a collection of paintings and calligraphy.
